Katriina Nuutinen

Katriina Nuutinen was born in 1983 in Helsinki, Finland. She received her education at Aalto University, a design school in Helsinki. She graduated in 2011 and also spent a semester at Konstfack in Stockholm. Katriina has previously exhibited at trade fairs in Tokyo, Paris, Stockholm, Milan, and New York. In 2010, she founded her own design studio, Muotoilustudio Katriina Nuutinen. In 2011, she was also awarded Talent of the Year at the MUOTO gala in Helsinki.

Her breakthrough came with the Hely lamp, which was named the most beautiful product at the 2009 FORMEX furniture fair. Hely, which is made of glass, represents Katriina's expertise in glass and other materials, as well as her creativity. Katriina specializes in glass and ceramics, but is also inspired by wood, metals, and textiles. She has primarily designed lamps, interior details, and tableware. However, her interest in furniture design and concepts has grown recently.
