About Klong

Klong was founded in 2000, out of a genuine love for form, design, and beautiful things. From the beginning, the ambition was as simple as it was difficult: to create something new that could simultaneously feel timeless. Objects with their own idea, their own character, and a quality that makes you want to live with them for a long time.

The first collection consisted of the Salvia cutlery series, designed by Jonas Bohlin. Since then, Klong has grown into a collection of furniture, lighting, and interior details created together with some of Sweden's most interesting and respected designers.

A family business since 2000

Klong is a family business. Since 2010, our office and showroom have been located on Lidingö outside of Stockholm. Here, we work with everything from new products and production to sales and communication – close to both the designers who create our products and the people who ultimately choose to live with them.

After more than 25 years, we have created products that have become well-known Swedish design classics, but our ambition is not to look back. We want to remain curious, challenge ourselves, and create things that do not yet exist. Because in the end, Klong is a collection of choices. Our choices of ideas, designers, materials, and details. And our customers' choices to surround themselves with objects that mean something.

Our goal is to enhance interior environments with joy, harmony, and a sense of exclusivity – through timeless objects with character, created to live on for generations.

We believe in things that are worth choosing and worth living with for a long time.

But the core idea remains the same.
We are not looking for the expected. On the contrary, many of our products start with an idea that at first glance might seem difficult – sometimes almost impossible – to create. It may take many attempts, new materials, unexpected constructions, and a great deal of persistence before the result is exactly as we want it. For us, that is part of the design process.

Over the years, some products have become major sales successes and developed into Swedish design classics. Others have existed only for a short time and found their way into the homes of a few. For us, both have been equally important. The crucial thing is not to create something for everyone, but to create something we ourselves believe in – something with a purpose, an expression, and a reason to exist.

EPOK – our compass

Four values summarize how we view Klong: EPOK – Eternal, Passion, Care and Character.

Timeless design

We want to create objects that transcend short-lived trends. Design that continues to feel relevant, useful, and beautiful year after year.

Passion for design

Klong would never have existed without a strong love for form and creation. Curiosity about materials, function, craftsmanship, and new ideas still drives us forward.

Care in every step

From the initial sketch and the choice of materials to production, packaging, and meeting our customers, we strive to make thoughtful decisions. We believe in quality over quantity and in doing things properly.

Character

We don't believe that good design needs to suit everyone. Quite the opposite. A Klong object should have its own identity – that detail that makes you stop, look one more time, and remember it.

Design to live with

We like objects that do something for a room. That add joy, harmony and a sense of exclusivity without needing to clamor for attention.

Klong’s collection is therefore characterized by carefully selected materials, unexpected details and a balance between the obvious and the idiosyncratic. Our products should feel just as relevant many years from now as the day they were created. For us, sustainability is also about exactly that: creating things that people actually want to keep.

We believe that an object chosen with care, desire and reflection has an entirely different value than something bought for the moment. That is why we want to create products that can accompany you through life – and preferably on to the next generation.
