Platina is a further development of the classic Patina oil lamps, which have long been part of Klong's collection. Designers Broberg & Ridderstråle have created a new version with an updated look and a more contemporary character. The result is an oil lamp where tradition meets modern design.

Product Description

The Platina oil lamps create a warm and cozy atmosphere wherever they are placed. The new design and construction provide a soft, living light while the lamp serves as a stylish object in the room. Platina is a tribute to the timeless charm of the oil lamp, where traditional lighting meets modern form. Just like the rest of the Klong collection, function and aesthetics are united in a well-thought-out object, created to last over time and remain relevant in both expression and use.

Platina comes in three finishes: Steel, Metallic Black, and Orange.

Material

Made of stainless steel and also available with an orange powder-coated finish. The burner is made of nickel-plated brass. Glass and cotton wick.

Care instructions

For daily cleaning, use a soft cotton cloth. Avoid strong chemicals or abrasive cleaning agents, as they may damage the surface of the oil lamp.

Usage:
- Use high-quality lamp oil, such as Kemetyl.
- Refill by removing the glass chimney and unscrewing the burner.
- Do not fill the oil reservoir to the top, as it will overflow when you screw the burner back on. Platina Small holds approx. 0.5 liters and Platina Large holds approx. 1 liter.
- Before first use: Turn the wick up high and dip the top part into the oil. Wait for 10 minutes so that the entire wick is saturated with oil. Then turn the wick back down and screw the burner on until it stops.
- Then let the lower part of the wick absorb oil for 15 minutes.
- NOTE! For the flame to burn evenly, the wick must be positioned straight in the burner. Adjust the wick or trim with scissors if necessary to get an even, straight edge.
- Only 1–2 mm of the wick should be visible. Adjust the length with the knob.
- Light the wick and put on the glass chimney.
- Extinguish the lamp by adjusting the knob until the flame goes out. Ensure the flame is completely extinguished.
- Remember to ensure that the wick is always saturated with high-quality oil. Otherwise, it will dry out and the wick will burn up. The same happens if the wick is turned up too high.
